Ahlul Bayt in Kerala: A Tapestry of Blessed Lineages Welcome to our dedicated space, celebrating the luminous presence of the Ahlul Bayt, the blessed descendants of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), in the verdant land of Kerala. For centuries, these noble lineages have enriched Kerala's spiritual, cultural, and intellectual landscape, leaving an enduring legacy of faith, knowledge, and compassion. Kerala, with its rich history of welcoming diverse cultures, has embraced the Ahlul Bayt, who arrived as scholars, traders, and spiritual guides. Their contributions to Islamic scholarship, Sufi traditions, and community development are deeply revered and cherished.

The Quran says in verse 33:33:
"Allah only intends to remove from you the impurity, O people of the household, and to purify you with a thorough purification."

This Quranic verse reveals that Allah has bestowed his special favor upon Ahlul Bayt, and He has pledged to preserve them from any impurity or defilement. Allah has assumed the responsibility of protecting Ahlul Bayt; to maintain them immaculate, pure, righteous, noble, and virtuous.

Through the course of history, the achievements of Ahlul Bayt for Islam have, undoubtedly, attested to the core of this Ayah and validated what Allah promised. Ahlul Bayt gave up everything they had for the sake of spreading Islam in its original form.

The Prophet also said in a famous hadith,
"I am leaving among you two weighty things: the Book of Allah and my family, the Ahlul byt.If you hold fast to them, you will never go astray."

Sayed Hyderali Shihab Thangal

السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ ٱللَّٰهِ
By the immense grace of Allah, a major historical publication on the Sadaaths (Thangals) of the Kerala region is now ready for release. This initiative is important as many people today lack clear knowledge about their relatives and family origins.

This comprehensive work aims to preserve and share this knowledge so that future generations can learn about the Thangals and Sadaaths. It documents the various kabeelas (lineages) of Sadaaths who migrated from regions such as Yemen and Hadhramaut, making it a valuable reference for years to come.

We humbly request everyone’s cooperation and support for this noble effort. May Allah grant us success in releasing this publication in the best possible manner. My sincere greetings to all.

  • To document and preserve the rich history and legacy of the Ahlul Bayt in Kerala.
  • To provide a platform for sharing information about their lineages, contributions, and traditions.
  • To foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of the Ahlul Bayt among the Muslim community and beyond.
  • To connect the various Kabeelas together.
